Amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI) is a stage between normal aging and Alzheimer disease (AD) where individuals experience a noticeable decline in memory that is greater than what is expected with normal aging, but dose not meet the clinical criteria for AD. This stage is considered a transitional phase that puts individuals at a high risk for developing AD. It is crucial to intervene during this stage to reduce the changes of AD development. ⋯ This review aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the brain structure and functional networks associated with aMCI. By analyzing the existing literature on multimodal magnetic resonance imaging and aMCI, this study seeks to uncover potential biomarkers and gain insight into the underlying pathogenesis of aMCI. This knowledge can then guide the development of future treatments and interventions to delay or prevent the progression of aMCI to AD.

Butylphthalide can improve blood circulation in patients with acute cerebral infarction. Complement 3a receptor 1 (C3aR1) is involved in the regulation of innate immune response and pathogen monitoring, which is closely related to the pathophysiological processes of breast cancer, neurogenesis and lipid catabolism. Our study explored the therapeutic effect of butylphthalide on improving the neurological function of patients with acute anterior circulation cerebral infarction after mechanical thrombectomy, and evaluated the correlation between serum C3aR1 and butylphthalide on improving the neurological function after mechanical thrombectomy. 288 patients with acute anterior circulation cerebral infarction who were admitted to our hospital from January 2019 to November 2022 and were treated with mechanical thrombectomy for the first time were included in this retrospective study and divided into the butylphthalide group and control group that they received treatment methods. ⋯ The serum C3aR1 was positively correlated with the efficacy of NIHSS (R = 0.815, P = .004), which was positively correlated with mRS score (R = 0.774, P = .007). Butylphthalide can improve the therapeutic effect of neurological function in patients with acute anterior circulation cerebral infarction after mechanical thrombus removal. The patient serum C3aR1 is related to the patient neurotherapy efficacy and neurological function status, and its level can reflect the patient neurological function recovery to a certain extent.

ReviewHormone therapy for sexual function in perimenopausal and postmenopausal women.
The perimenopausal and postmenopausal periods are associated with many symptoms, including sexual complaints. This review is an update of a review first published in 2013. ⋯ Hormone therapy treatment with estrogen alone probably slightly improves the sexual function composite score in women with menopausal symptoms or in early postmenopause (within five years of amenorrhoea), and in unselected postmenopausal women, especially in the lubrication, pain, and satisfaction domains. We are uncertain whether estrogen combined with progestogens improves the sexual function composite score in unselected postmenopausal women. Evidence regarding other hormone therapies (synthetic steroids and SERMs) is of very low quality and we are uncertain of their effect on sexual function. The current evidence does not suggest the beneficial effects of synthetic steroids (for example tibolone) or SERMs alone or combined with estrogen on sexual function. More studies that evaluate the effect of estrogen combined with progestogens, synthetic steroids, SERMs, and SERMs combined with estrogen would improve the quality of the evidence for the effect of these treatments on sexual function in perimenopausal and postmenopausal women.

The aim of this study was to investigate the efficacy of surgical treatment and conservative treatment for cervical spinal cord injury without fracture and dislocation (CSCIWFD) in adults by meta-analysis. ⋯ Surgical treatment can improve the effective rate and JOA score of adult patients with CSCIWFD compared to conservative treatment. This suggests that surgical treatment can significantly improve the patient's spinal cord function.

LAMP1/2 as potential diagnostic and prognostic marker for brain lower grade glioma: A review.
Brain lower grade glioma (LGG) is a common type of glioma. The current treatment methods still have some limitations, and some LGG patients will inevitably continue to deteriorate after treatment. We found the value of lysosomal associated membrane proteins (LAMPs) in the diagnosis and prognosis of LGG, which helps to enhance the clinical understanding of LGG treatment and improved prognosis. ⋯ We found that the immune invasion of LGG was almost significantly correlated with the expression of LAMPs. The results suggested that mRNA expressions of LAMP1 and LAMP4 were significantly associated with histological subtypes in LGG patients. lysosomal associated membrane protein 2 and LAMP5 were significantly down-regulated expression in samples of TP53 mutant in LGG compared to TP53 wild type. In addition, Lysosomal associated membrane protein 3 and LAMP4 were significantly overexpressed in samples of TP53 mutant in LGG Enrichment analysis applied to each component indicated that biological function was primarily associated with series of pathways in synapse and immunity.
