Pain in the orofacial region is often reported after whiplash trauma. However, prospective studies evaluating clinical signs related to orofacial pain and disability in whiplash populations are rare. The aim of the present study was to evaluate clinical signs related to pain and dysfunction in orofacial and neck regions after whiplash trauma, in a short- and long-term perspective. ⋯ Orofacial pain is often reported after whiplash trauma but most previous studies concerning orofacial pain in whiplash populations have been questionnaire studies. Cases with a previous whiplash trauma and women, in general, had higher risk for pain on palpation in the jaw and neck region. Investigating pain on palpation after a whiplash trauma can help to identify individuals at risk of developing long-lasting pain in the orofacial region.

Radiation is ubiquitous in nature, and radiation is also widely used in various fields of medicine, agriculture, and industry. Current biological doses below 100 mSv are called low-dose radiation (LDR). Scientists have no consensus of effects on humans below this dose, so a variety of dose-response curve theories have been derived. ⋯ Nuclear molecular imaging is LDR, using different radionuclides or combining with specific ligands (carries) to form "radiopharmaceuticals" for functional or pathological evaluations of diseases. As an integral part of patient care, nuclear medicine is used in the diagnosis, management, treatment, follow-up, and prevention of diseases. Therefore, this paper discusses literature review and provides appropriate scientific data and communication to help the peers and the public understand its advantage and disadvantage.

Regional wall motion abnormalities in critically ill patients with non-obstructed coronary arteries.
Left ventricular (LV) dysfunction is estimated to occur in 10%-25% of the general intensive care unit (ICU) population and is frequently seen as regional wall motion abnormalities (RWMAs). Although RWMA is mostly attributed to myocardial ischemia or infarction, some studies have suggested that nonischemic RWMA might also be prevalent. We sought to establish that RWMA can be seen in critically ill patients with normal coronary arteries and to explore reasons for RWMA in this population. ⋯ RWMA can be seen to occur in critically ill patients in the absence of coronary artery obstruction. Several conditions can cause regional hypokinesia, and cMRI is useful to evaluate the underlying etiology.

Pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) is a high-value intervention for persons with COPD and other chronic lung diseases. It is associated with improvement in exercise capacity, dyspnea, health-related quality of life, and depression as well as a reduction in hospitalization and improved survival when PR follows COPD-related hospitalizations. ⋯ Models, for example, virtual PR, may be an option for improving access but coverage in the United States by Medicare is tenuous. In addition, virtual PR models have considerable heterogeneity, which challenges uniform efficacy and selection of optimal candidates.
