Chronic heart failure (CHF) is the ultimate destination of most cardiovascular diseases and one of the leading causes of death for the elderly. Despite significant advances in the therapy of heart failure, the mortality and rehospitalization rates remain high. Guipi Decoction (GPD) has been reported to be significantly effective on patients with CHF, but it still lacks evidence-based medicine support. ⋯ GPD can improve cardiac function and inhibit ventricular remodeling with few adverse effects. However, more rigorous and high-quality randomized controlled trials are needed to verify the conclusion.

Effect on music therapy on quality of recovery and postoperative pain after gynecological laparoscopy.
Music therapy is safe, inexpensive, simple, and has relaxing properties for mental and physical capacities, as well as few side effects. Moreover, it improves patient satisfaction and reduces postoperative pain. Thus, we intended to evaluate the effect of music intervention on the quality of comprehensive recovery using quality of recovery 40 (QoR-40) survey in patients undergoing gynecological laparoscopic surgery. ⋯ Intraoperative music intervention enhanced postoperative functional recovery and reduced postoperative pain in patients who underwent laparoscopic gynecological surgery.

Rheumatic diseases (RD) are chronic diseases that significantly affect the lives of patients. Assessing health outcomes through a patient-reported outcome measurement information system (PROMIS) is essential for RD management. Moreover, these tend to be less favorable among individuals than among the rest of the population. ⋯ Moreover, RD individuals reported lower physical functioning (β = -5.4; 95% CI = -6.50, -4.24) and social interaction (β = -4.5; 95% CI = -5.73, -3.20). Patients with RD in Saudi Arabia, particularly those with systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis, have significantly greater impairment in physical functioning and social interaction and report higher levels of fatigue and pain. Addressing and ameliorating these negative outcomes is necessary to improve quality of life.

Cardiac surgery using cardiopulmonary bypass has been shown to cause reversible postischemic cardiac dysfunction and is associated with reperfusion injury and myocardial cell death. Therefore, it is very important to have a series of measures in place to reduce oxygen consumption and provide myocardial protection. We performed a protocol for systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the effect of dexmedetomidine administration on myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury in patients undergoing cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass. ⋯ This meta-analysis will evaluate the efficacy and safety of dexmedetomidine in patients undergoing cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass.

Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears are frequent ligamentous injuries that necessitate reconstruction in many cases. The patellar tendon and the hamstring tendon are the most frequently utilized autografts for reconstruction. However, both have certain disadvantages. ⋯ However, 6 cases of superficial wound infection were observed, 4 at the port site and 2 at the donor site. All resolved after appropriate oral antibiotic therapy. The peroneus longus tendon can be considered a safe, effective, and promising graft of choice for arthroscopic primary single-bundle ACL reconstruction because it has a good functional outcome and impressive donor ankle function after surgery.
