Natural disasters may affect oral health as a result of serious damage to social function and public health. However, no article has systematically summarized the impact of natural disasters on oral health. This review aimed to map the existing literature on the impact of natural disasters on oral health. ⋯ Only 1 study analyzed the impact of disasters on oral health based on pre- and postdisaster surveys. This scoping review found that there was insufficient evidence to suggest a relationship between natural disasters and oral health and that there are biases in geographical areas and types of natural disasters in this research field. Further research is needed to promote evidence-based support by dental professionals during different disaster phases.

Exercise training significantly improves cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) in heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) patients, but high-intensity interval training (HIIT) is not superior to moderate-intensity interval training (MIIT). Whether HIIT is more beneficial than MIIT in patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) remains unclear. ⋯ In HFpEF patients, HIIT may be superior to MIIT in improving diastolic function, measured by E/A, but not CRF and left ventricular systolic function.

Knee osteoarthritis (OA) is a common clinical degenerative disease of the joints, which is prone to occur in middle-aged and elderly people. At present, the disease cannot be cured, it is mostly treated with drugs to relieve symptoms, improve joint function, protect cartilage, such as glucosamine, anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs, and but the efficacy is not lasting and the recurrence rate is high. Hydrotherapy has become a long-term alternative therapy in China and is receiving increasing attention. We perform a protocol for systematic review and meta-analysis to determine the efficacy and safety of a hydrotherapy program in individuals living with knee OA. ⋯ The findings from this review will establish the quality of currently available evidence, which will determine the need for further studies to establish the true effect size of hydrotherapy in knee OA.

Since the outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019, many people have had to reduce their outdoor activities. Therefore, a convenient, simple, at-home training method to improve or maintain cardiopulmonary function is required. This study aimed to explore the therapeutic effect of weight-bearing Liuzijue Qigong on cardiopulmonary function in healthy volunteers. ⋯ Weight-bearing Liuzijue Qigong training significantly improved cardiopulmonary function in healthy volunteers, thus representing home-based cardiopulmonary rehabilitation training.

Periodontal disease is often neglected and overlooking its initial symptoms can lead to tooth loss and systemic diseases. Patients with otitis media are at high risk of vestibular and balance dysfunction, consequently, and vertigo. Vertigo and dizziness are conditions with high reported incidences; they worsen with age and can burden health systems. ⋯ Compared with the controls, the risk of dizziness among patients with periodontal disease was higher for both female (HR: 1.439, 95%: 1.203, 1.720) and male patients (HR: 1.284, 95%: 1.123, 1.468); this risk was higher even when January (HR: 1.302, 95% CI: 1.145, 1.480), February (HR: 1.337, 95% CI: 1.178, 1.518), or March was excluded (HR: 1.308, 95% CI: 1.151, 1.487) and for patients without Ménière disease. Therefore, periodontal disease is not only a risk factor for dizziness but also an independent risk factor for dizziness. Future studies could clarify the mechanisms linking periodontal disease to dizziness.
