To explore the effectiveness of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection regarding functional recovery, pain relief, and range of motion (ROM) of shoulder compared with the corticosteroid injection in patients with rotator cuff lesions treated non-operatively. ⋯ The current clinical evidence revealed short-term efficacy of corticosteroid injection and no significant medium- to long-term difference between corticosteroid and PRP injection in the treatment of rotator cuff lesions. Additional studies with longer follow-ups, larger sample sizes, and more rigorous designs are needed to draw more reliable and accurate conclusions.

Moxibustion for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease: A protocol for a systematic reviews and meta-analysis.
Alzheimer's disease (AD) occurs in the elderly and the early stage of aging, with early clinical manifestations of memory impairment, cognitive impairment, behavioral change and decline in language function, etc., and eventually loss of the ability to live independently, requiring 24-hour care, and a variety of complications. However, these complications are the direct cause of death in AD patients. With the acceleration of the aging process of society, the incidence of AD is increasing year by year, seriously threatening the physical health and quality of life of the elderly. There are many ways to treat AD, however, moxibustion is especially popular in China. Therefore, our systematic review aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of moxibustion in the treatment of ADand to provide reliable evidence for clinical decision-makers. ⋯ INPLASY202110021.

Correction of calcium (Ca), phosphorus (P), and parathyroid hormone (PTH) disorders is the standard of treatment in non-dialysis patients with chronic kidney disease-mineral and bone disorder (CKD-MBD), but the side effects and adverse reactions brought by western medicine (WM) are still the main problems. More importantly, the lack of protection of kidney function in the treatment greatly affects the health of patients. Although traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), specifically tonifying kidney and strengthen bone (TKSB) therapy is wildly applied for patients with CKD-MBD in China, the evidence of TKSB therapy in the treatment of CKD-MBD is limited. Thus, we pretent to conduct this protocol to evaluate the efficacy and safety of TKSB therapy combined with WM for non-dialysis patients with CKD-MBD. ⋯ INPLASY2020120086.

The goals of improving quality of life and increasing longevity are receiving growing amounts of attention. Body weight and lipid metabolism are closely related to various complications of diabetes. The aim of this study was to rank SGLT inhibitors according to their efficacy with regard to weight and evaluate the effect of SGLT inhibitors on lipid metabolism at 24 weeks of treatment. ⋯ SGLT inhibitors can bring about weight loss in patients with T2DM and can also improve lipid metabolism. Therefore, patients with hyperlipidemia who have been unsuccessful at losing weight should consider taking SGLT inhibitors. In addition, SGLT inhibitors are hepatoprotective and appear to be safe for patients with mild to moderate liver dysfunction.

The incidence of stroke has been found in an increasing trend worldwide, resulting in significant negative effects and severe impairments to survivors in terms of motor function and activities of daily living. Acupuncture therapy has been widely used in the clinical treatment of stroke for a long time, meanwhile, the efficacy has been confirmed by many studies. However, the optimal intervention time-point of acupuncture in stroke is controversial. Therefore, the purpose of our study is to provide scientific evidence and reasonable suggestions for this issue. ⋯ This network meta-analysis will provide evidence-based references to evaluate the efficacy of different acupuncture intervention time-points during the treatment of stroke. Furthermore, it will help the clinicians to formulate appropriate medical plans and improve clinical efficacy.
