The effect of oral low molecular weight liquid hyaluronic acid combination with glucosamine and chondroitin on knee osteoarthritis patients with mild knee pain: An 8-week randomized double-blind placebo-controlled trial.
The popularity of dietary supplements for knee osteoarthritis (OA) management is on the rise; however, their effects are still debated. ⋯ Oral administration of low molecular weight liquid HA appeared to be effective for knee OA patients with mild knee pain (VAS ≤ 3) in the relief of knee OA symptoms, particularly in pain and physical function.Clinical Trial Registration: NCT04352322.

Effect of Telemedicine Dietary Intervention for Endothelial Function in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus on Mediterranean Diet.
Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) have a high rate of cardiovascular disease (CVD). The Mediterranean diet is preferred for CVD prevention. Endothelial dysfunction is demonstrated early in T2DM. ⋯ Patients with T2DM on the Mediterranean diet who received a weekly telephone call for 3 months improved their endothelial function with reduction of markers of inflammation.

A Pilot Study to Examine Psychological and Neuropsychological Outcomes and a Novel Detoxification Program for Gulf War Illness.
Exposures to environmental toxins have been associated with severe health problems for approximately one-quarter of the nearly 700,000 U.S. soldiers who served in the Gulf War between the years 1990 and 1991. Gulf War illness still affects about 30% of Gulf War veterans (GWV), causing reduced psychological wellness and neuropsychological function. ⋯ We conclude that the detoxification procedure provided improvement in psychological and cognitive function for GWV and that future study is warranted.

Lipi Guben decoction in treating diarrheal irritable bowel syndrome: A study protocol for a randomized controlled trial.
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common functional bowel disorder. The global incidence of IBS is as high as 9% to 23%, accounting for about 50% of outpatients in gastroenterology, and the new case detection rate is 0.2% every year. IBS has become a global gastrointestinal functional disease. Although IBS is not a life-threatening disease, it seriously affects the quality of life of patients, causing huge economic and mental burden to individuals, society and families. Lipi Guben decoction (LPGBD) is an important auxiliary treatment for IBS, but lack of robust Evidence-based medicine evidence proving its efficacy. Therefore, we designed a randomized controlled trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of LPGBD in the treatment of IBS. ⋯ LPGBD may improve the clinical efficacy of patients with IBS, which has important value in practical application.

Graded motor imagery training as a home exercise program for upper limb motor function in patients with chronic stroke: A randomized controlled trial.
Although several types of occupational therapy for motor recovery of the upper limb in patients with chronic stroke have been investigated, most treatments are performed in a hospital or clinic setting. We investigated the effect of graded motor imagery (GMI) training, as a home exercise program, on upper limb motor recovery and activities of daily living (ADL) in patients with stroke. ⋯ The GMI program may be useful for improving upper extremity function as an adjunct to conventional rehabilitation for patients with chronic stroke.
