COVID-19 vaccines have been crucial in the pandemic response and understanding changes in vaccines effectiveness is essential to guide vaccine policies. Although the Delta variant is no longer dominant, understanding vaccine effectiveness properties will provide essential knowledge to comprehend the development of the pandemic and estimate potential changes over time. ⋯ Even though the vaccine effectiveness against infection waned over time, all vaccine regimens remained effective against hospitalisation after the second vaccine dose. For all vaccine regimens, a booster facilitated recovery of effectiveness. The results from this support the use of heterologous schedules, increasing flexibility in vaccination policy.

Review Case Reports
A case of acquired hemophilia A and bullous pemphigoid following SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccination.
Acquired hemophilia is a rare disease resulting from autoantibodies against endogenous factor VIII (FVIII), which associates with bleeding and a high mortality rate. The pathophysiology is still unclear. Recent studies suggest genetic and environmental factors trigger the breakdown of immune tolerance. ⋯ We also discussed the rare finding of concomitant acquired hemophilia A and bullous pemphigoid. Bullous pemphigoid results from autoantibody against epithelial basement membrane zone of skin. In this article, we proposed possibility of SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccine associated autoimmunity against FVIII and epithelial basement membrane zone.

The Covid-19 pandemic appeared in China in December 2019 as a cluster of transmissible pneumonia caused by a new betacoronavirus. On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared it a pandemic. Covid-19 is a mild infection in 80% of cases, serious in 15% and critical in 5%. ⋯ The second has been favored in critical periods such as April 2020, when 2.5 billion people throughout the world were confined. Vaccination campaigns got underway at the end of December 2020 and progressed without reaching sufficient herd immunity, leading some nations to consider compulsory vaccination or to require a vaccine or health pass, in order for persons to access different activities. Will the pandemic stop with Omicron and become endemic? This part of the Covid-19 story remains to be told.

This population-based study aimed to compare the accuracy of Rapid antigen detection (RAD) and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) assays for diagnosing individuals infected with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) during the COVID-19 outbreak in Taipei, from May to June 2021. ⋯ Proactive community testing for SARS-CoV-2 infection using RAD tests could rapidly identify and quarantine the most infectious patients in the early phase of COVID-19 outbreak.
