A 4-year-old child presented to my office recently with a 2-cm forehead laceration. The child had needle phobia and was very upset, so suturing in the office might have been very challenging. The parents were also concerned about the use of suture. Can topical skin adhesives (TSAs) be used instead of sutures, and what factors should be considered? ⋯ Lacerations in children are common and TSAs are useful alternatives to sutures. They achieve comparable outcomes to suturing in appropriately selected wounds. Appropriate lacerations are small, superficial, appropriately cleaned, and have well approximated edges that are not under tension. Complications such as wound dehiscence and infection are rare and cosmetic outcomes are comparable to sutures. Using TSAs can also save time, minimize patient anxiety, and eliminate the need for suture removal.

Correlation between Circulating Tumor Cells and Plasma D-dimer and Clinicopathological Characteristics of Patients with Non-small Cell Lung Cancer.
To study the relationship between circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and plasma D-dimer (D-D) and their correlation with clinicopathological characteristics of patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). ⋯ The levels of CTCs and D-D in peripheral blood of NSCLC patients are significantly correlated with clinicopathological features, and the positive CTCs and high levels of D-D may indicate the late stage of the disease and poor prognosis, and there is a correlation between the two. The combined detection of the two is of great significance in predicting the progress and poor prognosis of NSCLC patients, and can guide the clinical diagnosis and treatment. [Old and depressed and/or demented? - Pseudodepression vs. pseudodementia].
Many elderly patients suffer from both, depressive symptoms and cognitive deficits. Clinically, it oftentimes appears unclear whether the affective or the cognitive problems are primary or secondary. ⋯ A careful history and clinical investigations are necessary to identify the underlying diseases, but they do not always offer sufficient therapeutic guidance. If in doubt, the condition should always be considered as potentially reversible and treated emphatically (but with age-appropriate caution).

Case Reports[Scrofuloderma, cutaneous and pulmonary tuberculosis associated with COVID-19. Report of one case].
Cutaneous tuberculosis represents 1-1.5% of extrapulmonary tuberculosis, including a variety of clinical conditions. Scrofuloderma and lupus vulgaris are the most common forms. ⋯ The diagnoses of scrofuloderma and pulmonary tuberculosis were confirmed, and during her evolution she presented a coinfection with SARS-CoV-2. The possible associations between tuberculosis and COVID-19 were reviewed.
