Hypoalbuminemia and colorectal cancer patients: Any correlation?: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
In malnourished patients with colorectal cancer, hypoalbuminemia is common and was proposed to determine the postoperative outcome of colorectal surgery. Mounting articles published but have not been evaluated. We aim to assess the predictive value of preoperative hypoalbuminemia in patients undergoing colorectal surgery. ⋯ The current systematic review and meta-analysis showed that preoperative hypoalbuminemia was significantly associated with morbidity, length of stay, and surgical complication but not mortality.

Exercise training significantly improves cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) in heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) patients, but high-intensity interval training (HIIT) is not superior to moderate-intensity interval training (MIIT). Whether HIIT is more beneficial than MIIT in patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) remains unclear. ⋯ In HFpEF patients, HIIT may be superior to MIIT in improving diastolic function, measured by E/A, but not CRF and left ventricular systolic function.

This systematic review and meta-analysis set out to determine the efficacy of whole-body muscle electrostimulation on body composition, strength, and muscle power in active and non-active adults (aged ≥18 years). ⋯ We concluded that WB-electromyostimulation has significant positive effects on muscle mass, body fat, strength, and power.

nonSmall Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) is the most common type of lung cancer with high morbidity and mortality rates. Studies have shown that miR-17-5p levels are significantly increased in the circulating blood of NSCLC patients. This meta-analysis aimed to investigate the diagnostic value of miR-17-5p in NSCLC in China. ⋯ Our meta-analysis shows that miR-17-5p can be used for the diagnosis of NSCLC and may serve as a biomarker for the detection of early NSCLC in the Chinese population.

Although colorectal cancer (CRC) is a serious cause of death and has a significant impact on patients' quality of life and incidence rate of CRC has increased among the younger populations, bibliometric research of CRC has not been conducted yet. To perform a comprehensive analysis of scientific publications on CRC using various statistical and bibliometric techniques. Publications on CRC published between 1980 and 2021 were downloaded from the Web of Science database and analyzed using statistical methods. ⋯ There was a significant positive correlation between the number of articles produced by the countries on CRC and gross domestic product and human development index (r = 0.726, P < .001; r = 0.658, P < .001, respectively). Additionally, a significant moderate correlation of CRC was found with gross domestic product per capita (r = 0.711, P < .001). Keywords like overall survival, neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy, locally advanced rectal cancer, robotic surgery, anastomotic leakage, chemoradiotherapy, metastatic colorectal cancer, KRAS, meta-analysis, colorectal surgery, and laparoscopic surgery were studied.
