Mindfulness Combined with Exercise Online (MOVE) Compared with a Self-Management Guide for Adults with Chronic Pain: A Feasibility Randomised Controlled Trial.
Limited studies exist combining mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) and exercise in a pain management programme (PMP), with none thus far delivering a combined intervention as an online PMP. This study aimed to explore the acceptability and feasibility of a combined MBSR and exercise online PMP for adults with chronic pain and to examine the feasibility of conducting a randomized controlled trial (RCT) comparing MBSR and exercise delivered online with an online self-management guide. ⋯ The findings suggest both interventions explored are acceptable and feasible. A fully powered RCT examining the effectiveness of MBSR combined with exercise, delivered live online is warranted.

Randomized Controlled TrialOpioid-Free Versus Opioid-Based Anesthesia on Postoperative Pain After Thoracoscopic Surgery: The Use of Intravenous and Epidural Esketamine.
The effectiveness and safety of opioid-free anesthesia (OFA) regimens in distinct types of surgeries remain controversial. In this study, we investigated whether OFA could reduce the occurrence of chronic postoperative pain in patients receiving video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS). ⋯ Replacement of opioids by esketamine, intraoperatively as intravenous injection and epidural infusion and postoperatively as epidural infusion, reduces the incidence of mild chronic postoperative pain and side effects in patients after VATS.

Long-term Efficacy of Pectoserratus Plane Block for Prevention of Post-mastectomy Pain Syndrome: Extended Follow-up From a Randomised Controlled Trial.
Pectoserratus plane block (PSPB) leads to lower postoperative pain intensity. We examined whether PSPB could also reduce the incidence of post-mastectomy pain syndrome (PMPS) in women undergoing breast cancer surgery. ⋯ The results suggest that, in the long term, PSPB-treated participants were associated with a statistically significantly lower risk of PMPS than those who received standard general anesthesia.

Ketamine versus ECT for Nonpsychotic Treatment-Resistant Major Depression.
Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and subanesthetic intravenous ketamine are both currently used for treatment-resistant major depression, but the comparative effectiveness of the two treatments remains uncertain. ⋯ Ketamine was noninferior to ECT as therapy for treatment-resistant major depression without psychosis.
