Review Meta Analysis
The impact of perioperative ketamine or esketamine on the subjective quality of recovery after surgery: a meta-analysis of randomised controlled trials.
This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the impact of ketamine/esketamine on postoperative subjective quality of recovery (QoR). ⋯ PROSPERO (CRD42023477580).

Global neonatal perioperative mortality: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
There are large differences in health care among countries. A higher perioperative mortality rate (POMR) in neonates than in older children and adults has been recognized worldwide. The aim of this study was to provide a systematic review of published 24-h and 30-day POMRs in neonates from 2011 to 2022 in countries with different Human Development Index (HDI) levels. ⋯ The review demonstrated very high global POMRs in a surgical population of neonates independent of the country HDI level. We identified differences in 24-h and 30-day POMRs between low-HDI countries and other countries with higher HDI levels.

Review Meta Analysis Comparative Study
Comparing perioperative outcomes between regional anesthesia and general anesthesia in patients undergoing hip fracture surgery: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Nearly all patients with hip fractures undergo surgical treatment. The use of different anesthesia techniques during surgery may influence the clinical outcomes. The optimal anesthetic technique for patients undergoing hip fracture surgery is still controversial. We performed this updated systematic review and meta-analysis to compare clinical outcomes of patients undergoing hip fracture surgery with different anesthesia techniques. ⋯ PROSPERO (CRD42023411854); registered 7 April 2023.

Local anesthesia versus general anesthesia for surgical drainage of chronic subdural hematoma: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
The optimal anesthetic technique for surgical drainage of chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH) is still uncertain. We performed this systematic review and meta-analysis to determine if local anesthesia with or without sedation (LA) or general anesthesia (GA) results in better outcomes for surgical drainage of CSDH. ⋯ PROSPERO (CRD42022333388); first submitted 1 June 2022.

Review Meta Analysis
Efficacy and safety of ketamine as an adjuvant to regional anesthesia: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
To identify whether adding ketamine to the local anesthetics (LA) in the regional anesthesia could prolong the duration of analgesia. ⋯ This study indicates that ketamine could be an ideal adjuvant to local anesthetics regardless of the types of anesthesia. Overall, the quality of the evidence is low.
