Earlier rehabilitation interventions, like community-based rehabilitation (CBR), could not make a remarkable impact because they ran parallel to the health system, but the newer model establishes health-related rehabilitation as an integral part of the health care system at all levels and thus should be implemented as such. Collaborating with other players relevant to the CBR matrix, such as social and vocational services, can be imparted for the empowerment of a disabled group at the village level through the CBR center. A multipurpose rehabilitation worker, through skill transfer or task shifting, can start rehabilitation at the primary health center.

The aim of this study is to identify the types of community paramedicine programs and the training for each. ⋯ Community paramedicine programs and training were diverse and allowed community paramedics to address a spectrum of population health and social needs. Training was poorly described. Enabling more programs to assess and report on program and training outcomes would support community paramedicine growth and the development of formalized training or education frameworks.

Community health training for Family and Community Health Nursing residents in a Multiprofessional Teaching Unit. Three years of experience.
To determine the interest of nursing residents in the training areas of Family and Community Nursing (EFyC) at the beginning of their training, to evaluate community activities in health centres and to determine satisfaction with the training received and activities carried out. ⋯ The results show a high degree of interest in this area, as well as high evaluation of the activities carried out and the training received. Training in community health and health education during the period of residence is essential to include these competencies in the professional role. The dedication and involvement of the multiprofessional teaching units is essential in the development of these competences, training the residents through the integration of a biopsychosocial approach, community health and teamwork in primary care.

What do community paramedics assess? An environmental scan and content analysis of patient assessment in community paramedicine.
Patient assessment is a fundamental feature of community paramedicine, but the absence of a recognized standard for assessment practices contributes to uncertainty about what drives care planning and treatment decisions. Our objective was to summarize the content of assessment instruments and describe the state of current practice in community paramedicine home visit programs. ⋯ Although community paramedicine home visit programs may differ in design and aim, all complete multi-domain assessments as part of patient intake. If community paramedicine home visit programs share similar characteristics but assess patients differently, it is difficult to expect that the resulting referrals, care planning, treatments, or interventions will be similar.

ReviewConcept Changes and Standardizing Tools in Community-Based Rehabilitation.
Community-based rehabilitation (CBR) has changed considerably over 4 decades, resulting in a rights-based approach, holding local authorities accountable for service delivery. For medical rehabilitation in low-resource countries, there is concern about how this service gap will be covered. ⋯ The creation of standardizing tools favors this process because it provides the building blocks to scale up, setting standards for implementation research. Finally, an International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health-based assessment and intervention model for CBR is proposed.
