Meta Analysis
Home enteral nutrition after esophagectomy for esophageal cancer: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Not only has the placement rate of enteral feeding tubes during operations for esophageal cancer increased, but also has number of patients who choose to continue enteral feeding at home instead of removing the feeding tube at discharge. The impacts of home enteral nutrition (HEN) after esophagectomy in esophageal cancer patients are analyzed. ⋯ HEN improved nutrition status, physical and role function, and reduced nausea/vomiting, fatigue, appetite loss, diarrhea, and sleep disturbance compared with an oral diet in esophageal cancer patients postsurgery. HEN did not increase adverse reactions.

To systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of antiemetic regimen with aprepitant in the prevention of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) and provide updated information for clinical practice. ⋯ The aprepitant triple regimen is effective for the prevention of CINV in patients being treated with moderately or highly emetogenic chemotherapy, and has a significant tendency to reduce the risk of constipation and increase the incidence of hiccup.

The efficacy and safety of pioglitazone in psoriasis vulgaris: A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
Pioglitazone may have potential benefits in the treatment of cutaneous and metabolic derangements of psoriasis, but its role in the treatment of psoriasis remains in debate. We therefore conducted a meta-analysis to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of pioglitazone in psoriasis vulgaris (PsV). We performed a comprehensive search in database of PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane library, Embase and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), and Wan fang database through March 2019 to identify eligible studies. ⋯ Compared with control group, pioglitazone was not related to a pronounced increase in total adverse events (RR 1.180, 95 CI 0.85-1.63, P = .33). Moreover, the risk of common adverse events in the 2 groups were similar, such as elevated liver enzyme, fatigue, nausea, weight gain. This meta-analysis suggested pioglitazone is an effective and safe drug in the treatment of patients with PsV.

Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) is a common complication after mastectomy. Although many researches have been studied the prophylactic effect of antiemetics, none of the results are effective. To overcome this problem, dexamethasone was used to relieve the occurrence of PONV. Since concerns about steroid-related morbidity still remain, We carried out a meta-analysis to evaluate the impact of prophylactic dexamethasone on PONV, post-operative pain undergoing mastectomy. ⋯ Not only does Dexamethasone reduce the incidence of PONV but also decreases postoperative pain. However, we still need larger samples and higher quality studies to determine the relationship between symptoms and administration time to reach the conclusion.

To compare the therapeutic effect of 6 SSRIs among the Chinese senile depression patients. And drug-induced nausea leads to low compliance in elderly depression patients in China, it is urgent to assess the safety of 6 SSRIs with respect to induced-nausea among the Chinese senile depression patients. ⋯ The rank of SSRIs with respect to induced-nausea was: Combination of EP > Fluoxetine > Paroxetine > Citalopram > Sertraline > Fluvoxamine > Escitalopram, respectively.
