    AbstractThe chair of pathology has greatly contributed to establishment and development of prosector's speciality: training of pathologists, initiation of first clinico-anatomical conferences and their upgrading, introduction of novel morphological techniques and other advanced methods, publication of books, guidelines, manuals. The chair, A. I. Abrikosov and I. V. Davydovsky especially, contributed much to transformation of the pathology service in Russia after 1917.
