    AbstractOdontoid fractures are the most common cervical fracture type among the elderly population. Several treatment options exist for these patients, ranging from immobilization with a semirigid orthosis to surgical arthrodesis. This report reviews the key points in the management of odontoid fractures in the aged patient, including diagnosis, the various forms of conservative therapies, and the options for surgical intervention.Copyright © 2016 Elsevier Inc.
