    AbstractThis article is based on a paper presented at the National Association of Theatre Nurses Congress and Exhibition in October 2001. In it, Judith Tanner asks why it is so difficult to recruit students to theatres, identifies some reasons given by students for not going into theatres, as well as their reasons forgoing into theatres, and gives advice on how perioperative departments can become more student-friendly.
