AbstractObturator internus muscle abscess (pyomyositis) is extremely rare in temperate environments, although there has been a recent reported increase in prevalence. There usually is a delay in diagnosis and onset of treatment. In addition to our case, we reviewed all cases of pyomyositis of hip muscles found in a review of the recent medical literature.
