AbstractCryopreservation of platelets as a blood-bank routine procedure offers functional platelets on demand. A simple method of freezing, thawing, and administering platelets which is within reach of any hospital with routine blood-banking facilities is outlined. Sixteen frozen-thawed platelet transfusions are reported.
