AbstractWe investigated the effects of alfentanil and different doses of remifentanil on intraocular pressure (IOP) and hemodynamic responses during laryngoscopy and endotracheal intubation in 60 patients. IOP values decreased significantly from 30 seconds before the intubation to 5 minutes after intubation measurements compared to baseline values in all the groups. However, a significant increase in IOP was recorded in the 0.5-microg remifentanil group after tracheal intubation.
