AbstractThis article provides a broad overview of simulation use in nursing education. An example of a simulation experience focusing on the development and debriefing of a medication safety exercise is presented based on a theoretic approach. Questions for future consideration by nursing educators and researchers are also presented with the ultimate goal of producing safer patient care and more deliberate reflecting practitioners.
