AbstractA systematic approach to the injured hand has been presented that ensures no injuries are overlooked and provides the basis for a reconstructive approach. This scheme is tissue oriented, first evaluating injury to the vasculature, then to the skin, bone, joint, nerve, and tendon units. The most complex injuries can be thoroughly evaluated and properly treated with this method.
