AbstractA wide range of drugs are capable of being administered as transdermal drug delivery systems (TDDS). Despite their advantages, these systems are known to have adverse effects. This report describes localised skin reactions with reference to a burn-like lesion on the shoulder of a patient caused by a testosterone TDDS. Patients should be advised of the potential adverse effects of these systems and also of suitable application sites, avoiding areas liable to prolonged pressure.
