AbstractA more complete understanding of alcohols reinforcing actions is obtained when multiple behavioral procedures are used, some of which bypass taste factors. This unit describes a method for assessing the reinforcing effects of alcohol in mice using the most widely accepted procedure for assessing drug reward: intravenous self-administration.
