Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyEfficacy of oxytocin versus carbetocin in prevention of postpartum hemorrhage after cesarean section under general anesthesia: a prospective randomized clinical trial.
To compare the use of carbetocin and oxytocin in the prevention of postpartum hemorrhage after cesarean section. ⋯ It may be concluded that carbetocin is a good alternative modality to conventional uterotonic agents such as oxytocin for the prevention of postpartum hemorrhage after cesarean sections. Registration ID in IRCT: NCT02079558.

Randomized Controlled TrialNebulized hypertonic saline to prevent ventilator associated pneumonia in premature infants, a randomized trial.
Ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP) is a leading cause of death. Nebulized hypertonic saline solution (HSS) has been used to improve pulmonary clearance and reduce infection in intubated patients. This study examines whether nebulized HSS may reduce VAP in intubated premature infants. ⋯ Nebulized HSS may help preserving lung clearance mechanisms and therefore reduce VAP in premature infants. Multi center, double blinded, randomized, controlled, trial is needed to confirm safety and efficacy of such intervention.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter StudyRisk of neonatal and childhood morbidity among preterm infants exposed to marijuana.
Limited data exist regarding the neonatal and neurodevelopmental outcomes of infants exposed to marijuana (MJ) in-utero, particularly among preterm infants. We hypothesized that MJ-exposed preterm infants would have worse neonatal and childhood developmental outcomes compared to MJ-unexposed infants. ⋯ Among infants born <35 weeks of gestation, MJ-exposure was not associated with adverse neonatal or childhood outcomes. Long-term follow-up studies are needed to assess later childhood neurodevelopmental outcomes following MJ-exposure.

Randomized Controlled TrialSustained versus intermittent lung inflation for resuscitation of preterm infants: a randomized controlled trial.
To evaluate efficacy and safety of delivery room (DR) sustained lung inflation (SLI) in resuscitation of preterm neonates. ⋯ Delivery room SLI is more effective than intermittent bag and mask inflation for improving short-term respiratory outcome in preterm infants, without significant adverse effects.

Randomized Controlled TrialCarbetocin versus syntometrine for prevention of postpartum hemorrhage after cesarean section.
To compare effectiveness and tolerability of carbetocin versus syntometrine in prevention of postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) after cesarean section (CS). ⋯ Carbetocin is a reasonable effective alternative to syntometrine in prevention of PPH after cesarean delivery.
