Meta AnalysisThe efficacy of parecoxib for pain control after hysterectomy: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled studies.
The efficacy of parecoxib for pain control after hysterectomy remains controversial. We conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis to explore the influence of parecoxib versus placebo on pain intensity after hysterectomy. ⋯ Parecoxib treatment provides additional benefits for pain control after hysterectomy.

ReviewNon-invasive high flow oscillatory ventilation in comparison with nasal continuous positive pressure ventilation for respiratory distress syndrome, a literature review.
Noninvasive high-frequency oscillatory ventilation (NHFOV) keeps the lung open with add-on effective rhythmic oscillations in addition to allowing spontaneous breathing. This review aims at reconstructing the different pieces of available research articles and evidence into a more solid collective evidence for NHFOV in preterm infants with respiratory distress syndrome (RDS). ⋯ NHFOV improved the PCO2 elimination and decreased the risk of intubation without a significant change in mortality compared with NCPAP.

Meta AnalysisEfficacy of carbetocin in the prevention of postpartum hemorrhage: a systematic review and Bayesian meta-analysis of randomized trials.
To evaluate the efficacy of carbetocin for the prevention of postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) and related events after vaginal or cesarean delivery. ⋯ Carbetocin is effective in reducing the need for additional uterotonic use and postpartum blood transfusion in women at increased risk of PPH undergoing cesarean delivery. There is still a need for high-quality trials on its effectiveness in preventing PPH in high-risk women.PrecisCarbetocin is effective in reducing the need for additional uterotonic use and postpartum blood transfusion in high-risk women undergoing Cesarean delivery.

ReviewManagement of post-partum hemorrhage and the role of the obstetric anesthesiologist.
The landscape of post-partum hemorrhage management is rapidly changing. Modifications to definitions, bundles, and care plans occur frequently with management strategies becoming more complex. It has become apparent that the management of these patients requires a multidisciplinary approach with the involvement of obstetricians, anesthesiologists, gynecologist/oncologists, nursing, and care associates. This review article is meant to be an evidence-based review of post-partum hemorrhage with practical recommendations and a look at future directions of the management of post-partum hemorrhage from the vantage point of the obstetric anesthesiologist in an effort to enhance the collaborative treatment of this at risk population.
