Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyEFFECTS OF DIFFERENT DOSES OF TRAMADOL ADDED TO LEVOBUPIVACAİNE IN CONTINUOUS WOUND INFUSION FOR POSTOPERATIVE PAIN TREATMENT FOLLOWING CESAREAN SECTION.
The aim of this study was to compare the effects of two different doses of tramadol added to levobupivacaine as continuous wound infusion, on VAS scores following cesarean section. ⋯ Different doses of tramadol as adjunct to local anesthetics in continuous wound infiltration following cesarean section do not seem to provide superior analgesia.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyComparison of sevoflurane administered through a face mask versus rectal thiopental sodium in children undergoing magnetic resonance imaging.
Sevoflurane (S) and thiopental sodium (T) are commonly used to produce sedation for routine MRI procedures. However, to date there have been no comparative studies evaluating both techniques. We herein present the firt study comparing S and T techniques for pediatric sedation in MRI procedures. ⋯ Sevoflurane shortens the induction and recovery time, enabling earlier discharge. Sevoflurane and rectal thiopental sodium protocols are safe and effective, providing adequate conditions for MRI in pediatric outpatients, although rectal thiopental is more unpredictable.

Randomized Controlled TrialCarbetocin versus oxytocin to reduce additional uterotonic use at non-elective caesarean section: a double-blind, randomised trial (.).
We compared the efficacy of Carbetocin (long-acting oxytocin receptor agonist) versus Oxytocin given at non-elective caesarean section. ⋯ Oxytocin and carbetocin have similar requirements for additional uterotonics, estimated blood loss, haemoglobin drop and blood transfusions. There was a trend towards requiring additional uterotonics in patients receiving Carbetocin which was not statistically significant. This study found no benefits in using carbetocin over oxytocin.

Randomized Controlled TrialIntravenous carbetocin shot is superior to oxytocin infusion for placental delivery in second trimester abortion: a pilot randomized controlled trial.
To study the efficacy of 100 μg intravenous shot of carbetocin compared to 20 IU oxytocin intravenous infusion to prevent placental retention in second trimester medical termination of pregnancy. ⋯ Carbetocin is superior to oxytocin infusion for management of placental delivery in second trimester abortion.
