In the end of December 2019, China reported an outbreak of pneumonia in Wuhan, a city with more than 11 million inhabitants, to the World Health Organization. Days later, a new agent (SARS-CoV-2) was identified; since then, it has spread throughout the planet, resulting in one of the most challenging pandemics in recent history. Faced with this scenario, Epidemiology plays an important role, given that its techniques and methods have contributed to generating knowledge, assisting in decision making in healthcare. This text presents a succinct reflection regarding the importance of epidemiology in light of the current pandemic.

ReviewSolid pseudopapillary neoplasia of the pancreas: a review.
To review the literature and the diagnosis of conventional histopathological routine and immunohistochemistry of the cases diagnosed with Solid Pseudopapillary Neoplasm of the Pancreas (SPNP). ⋯ The results show the importance of the examination of several fragments obtained from different regions of the neoplasia since not all of them present the same molecular alterations.

Case ReportsFlucloxacillin-Induced Hepatotoxicity - Association with HLA-B*5701.
Drug-induced liver injury (DILI) to flucloxacillin is rare and is classified as idiosyncratic, as it is dependent on individual susceptibility, unpredictable, and dose-independent. The authors present the case of a 74 - year - old man with a history of monoclonal gammopathy under investigation and alcoholic habits of 24 g/day, with asthenia, anorexia, nausea, abdominal discomfort, and fever with three days of evolution. He was treated with two courses of antibiotic therapy with flucloxacillin to erysipelas previously (3 months and 2 weeks before admission). ⋯ There was favorable evolution, without evidence of blood coagulation dysfunction or encephalopathy. The analytic normalization was, however, slow, with evolution to chronicity. The authors present this case to remind the possibility of moderate/severe drug-induced liver injury to flucloxacillin, an antibiotic commonly used in clinical practice and association with the HLA-B * 5701 allele reported in the literature.

Neutrophil count to albumin ratio as a new predictor of mortality in patients with COVID-19 ınfection.
Coronavirus Disease 2019 is an acute inflammatory respiratory disease. It causes many changes in hemogram parameters. Low albumin levels are associated with mortality risk in hospitalized patients. The aim of the present study is to reveal the place of neutrophil count to albumin ratio in predicting mortality in patients with COVID-19. ⋯ The present study showed that NAR levels can be a cheap and simple marker for predicting mortality in patients with COVID-19.

COVID-19 and health literacy: the yell of a silent epidemic amidst the pandemic.
The emergence of a new form of Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) exposed weaknesses of health services in several countries, with overcrowding of hospitals, and lack of supplies and professionals in combating the disease, which sometimes contributed to the installation of social, political, and economic chaos. The critical situation experienced made the subject widely publicized so that the current pandemic also deals with an information epidemic. ⋯ The exponential increase in the number of confirmed cases shows the world population's inadequacy and difficulty in understanding basic prevention guidelines. The COVID-19 pandemic warns of gaps in the health literacy levels of the world population and exposes the need for a comprehensive mapping to identify the overall health literacy status in more countries.
