Does dietary total antioxidant capacity relate to oxidative stress levels in water immersion during labor? A case-control study.
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of water immersion during the first stage of labor on maternal and neonatal oxidative stress and the association between serum and dietary total antioxidant capacity. ⋯ Women immersed in water during the first stage of labor had lower total oxidative stress levels in their postnatal maternal serum and neonatal cord blood samples and dietary total antioxidant capacity was also a factor associated with low total oxidative stress levels.

Pelvic obliquity, trunk control, and motor function: an exploratory study in a non-ambulatory Duchenne muscular dystrophy cohort.
The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between pelvic obliquity and trunk control, spinal deformity, upper extremity functional performance, and motor function in patients with non-ambulatory Duchenne muscular dystrophy. ⋯ The study found that pelvic obliquity may lead to spinal health deterioration and motor function limitations in non-ambulatory patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, especially those with lower extremity joint contractures and long-term wheelchair use.

An investigation of the umbilical artery N-terminal proBrain natriuretic peptide levels of fetuses due to fetal distress in term pregnancies.
This study aimed to investigate umbilical artery N-terminal proBrain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) in fetuses delivered by cesarean section due to fetal distress in term pregnancies. ⋯ This study showed that NT-proBNP can be used as an important marker in the diagnosis of fetal distress. Prospective studies with more participants are now needed to confirm the accuracy of our results.
