Comparative StudyComparison of two different frailty screening scales for predicting mortality due to all causes in older inpatients.
This study examines the relationship between two frailty screening tools and 90-day all-cause mortality in geriatric inpatients. ⋯ An evaluation of frailty in hospitalized older adults using two different scales revealed the CFS to be superior to the sMFS in predicting all-cause mortality within 90 days.

What is the applicability of tubal ligation with the vaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery technique and its value in patient comfort?
The aim of this study was to observe the feasibility of the tubal/adnexal approach using vaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery and compare its contribution with surgeon ergonomics and postoperative patient comfort with that of conventional laparoscopy. ⋯ Patients subjected to the vaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery procedure showed higher levels of satisfaction, less postoperative pain, and greater comfort than those subjected to conventional laparoscopy.

Effect of Laurus nobilis on bacteria and human transforming growth factor-β1.
In this study, we aimed to determine the phenolic compounds, the antibacterial activity of extract from Laurus nobilis leaves, and its possible effect on transforming growth factor-β1 expression level in peripheral blood mononuclear cells. ⋯ Laurus nobilis extract was found to be effective against bacteria and altered the expression level of transforming growth factor-β1 in peripheral blood mononuclear cells.

The usefulness of anti-HCV signal to cut-off ratio in predicting hepatitis C viremia and the effect of genotype differences on signal to cut-off ratio.
In the hepatitis C virus (HCV) diagnostic algorithm, an anti-HCV screening test is recommended first. In countries with low HCV prevalence, anti-HCV testing can often give false-positive results. This may lead to unnecessary retesting, increased costs, and psychological stress for patients. ⋯ If anti-HCV S/Co is ≥10.86, direct HCV RNA testing may be recommended; However, the possibility of false positivity should be considered in patients with a S/Co value below 10.86.

Comparison of menstrual cycle irregularities among young women based on coronavirus disease 2019 infection status: a cross-sectional study.
The coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic that has emerged recently has significantly affected and continues to affect our lives. The Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 virus has significant effects on women's health due to gender-related physiological differences. The aim of this study was to compare the menstrual cycle status of young women according to their status of having had coronavirus disease 2019. ⋯ Although menstrual cycle irregularities due to coronavirus disease 2019 have been reported, these effects are usually observed during the pandemic. A decrease in stress and anxiety with the end of the pandemic may explain the return of the menstrual cycle to normal.
