Effect of mode of delivery on postpartum health-related quality of life.
The aim of the study was to explore the impact of mode of delivery on health-related quality of life in mothers. ⋯ This study showed that health-related quality of life was higher after vaginal delivery than after cesarean section. In addition, spousal support, regular sleep pattern, and PA during pregnancy play an important role in maternal health-related quality of life.

Hospital cohort study on survival predictors for intubated coronavirus disease 2019 patients.
The objective of this study was to assess the predictors of survival among patients with coronavirus disease 2019 who underwent tracheal intubation, as part of a hospital cohort study. ⋯ Our analysis unveiled that the risk of death in intubated coronavirus disease 2019 patients is four times higher when an emergency physician, as opposed to an anesthesiologist, leads the tracheal intubation team.

Serum adiponectin and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors-γ levels in obese patients with and without prediabetes.
Obesity is an increasingly prevalent global health problem, which is generally caused by the increase in body fat mass above normal and observed in all societies. If the blood glucose level is higher than normal but not high enough to diagnose diabetes, this condition is defined as prediabetes. Adiponectin increases fatty acid oxidation and insulin sensitivity and is closely associated with obesity. One of the nuclear receptor superfamily member peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors is shown to have an important role in various metabolic reactions. This study aimed to investigate the serum levels of adiponectin and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors-gamma parameters, which are closely related to adipose tissue, energy metabolism, and insulin sensitivity, in obese patients with and without prediabetes. ⋯ Our results suggest that adiponectin may serve as an indicator of prediabetes. This implies that examining adiponectin levels in individuals diagnosed with prediabetes may enhance our understanding of the metabolic processes closely linked to prediabetes and related conditions.

Comparison of choroidal thickness and choroidal vascular index in normotensive dippers and nondippers.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the choroidal thickness and choroidal vascular index in normotensive individuals with dipping and nondipping patterns. ⋯ Our study showed that the choroidal vascular index was significantly lower in nondippers than in dippers. Nondipper individuals may be affected by vascular dysregulation, leading to alterations in the choroidal circulation.
