Predictors of recurrence in breast cancer patients with pathological partial response.
Patients with residual disease after neoadjuvant chemotherapy have a relative risk of developing recurrence. This study investigates the risk factors for recurrence in locally advanced breast cancer patients with residual disease and evaluates survival analysis. ⋯ Factors affecting disease-specific survival and disease-free survival were cNII-III and the number of involved lymph nodes, respectively. Patients with non-luminal, large residual tumors with in situ carcinoma, lymphovascular invasion, clinically positive axilla, and residual nodal involvement have a high relative risk for recurrence and may benefit from additional treatments.

A retrospective study of pregnant patients with acute pancreatitis.
Acute pancreatitis is a rare disease in pregnant patients. Although it may have serious maternal and fetal consequences, morbidity and mortality rates have decreased recently due to appropriate and rapid treatment with earlier diagnosis. The aim of this study was to evaluate pregnant patients diagnosed with acute pancreatitis. ⋯ The most common etiology of acute pancreatitis in pregnancy was gallstones. Acute pancreatitis occurred in the third trimester. Most of the patients had mild acute pancreatitis. Maternal and fetal complications were rare. We think that the reasons for the low mortality rate were mild disease severity and biliary etiology, and most patients were in the third trimester, as well as early diagnosis and no delay in the intervention.

Use of high-dose steroid therapy: addition of anakinra in the treatment of severe COVID-19.
The aim of this study was to compare the clinical effects of the addition of anakinra to high-dose steroid therapy in COVID-19 patients with macrophage activation syndrome. ⋯ The addition of anakinra to steroid treatment resulted in a significant decrease in biochemical parameters. However, no significant difference was observed in the oxygen status between the groups. The addition of anakinra to steroid treatment did not decrease mortality. Clinicians should be aware of the complications of anti-inflammatory therapies.
