Randomized Controlled TrialDexmedetomidine potential in attenuating postoperative delirium in elderly patients after total hip joint replacement.
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of dexmedetomidine in reducing the occurrence of postoperative delirium in elderly patients after total hip joint replacement. ⋯ Our findings show that the dexmedetomidine medication can reduce the postoperative delirium incidence in older total hip joint replacement patients and can subsequently decrease the related hospitalization duration and cost of these patients.

Randomized Controlled TrialSeating system for scoliosis in nonambulatory children with cerebral palsy: a randomized controlled trial.
This study aimed to investigate the effect of an adaptive seating system on pelvic obliquity and spinal coronal/sagittal balance in children with nonambulatory cerebral palsy and scoliosis. ⋯ The adaptive seating system was found to be superior in reducing the progression of Cobb angle and hip subluxation/dislocation, decreasing pelvic obliquity, and improving the sagittal balance of the spine/pelvis compared with exercise therapy.

Randomized Controlled TrialComparison of the effects of duloxetine and pregabalin on pain and associated factors in patients with knee osteoarthritis.
This study aimed to investigate the effects of duloxetine and pregabalin primarily on pain and functional status in patients with knee osteoarthritis and secondarily on quality of life, depression, anxiety, and sleep disturbance. ⋯ Osteoarthritis pain, a complex outcome with nociceptive and neuropathic components, leads to central sensitization in a chronic phase. Using centrally acting drugs in the control of pain and associated symptoms would increase the probability of treatment success.

Randomized Controlled TrialInfluence of small-group experiential learning of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine on the oral health knowledge, beliefs, and behaviors of elderly patients with diabetes.
This study aimed at the oral health problems of elderly patients with diabetes. A training course of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine was constructed, helping patients improve their oral health quality of life. ⋯ The small-group experiential learning model of integrated Chinese and Western medicine can promote the transformation of knowledge-beliefs-behaviors in elderly patients with diabetes, which is conducive to controlling blood sugar levels and improving the quality of oral health.

Randomized Controlled TrialDemonstration of kinesio taping effect by ultrasonography in neck pain.
This study aimed to demonstrate the effectiveness of kinesio taping in nonspecific neck pain and to assess whether ultrasonographic parameters of the upper trapezius muscle can be used in the follow-up of kinesio taping treatment. ⋯ The combination of kinesio taping and exercise therapy was effective in reducing nonspecific neck pain and neck disability. Also, this study showed that ultrasonographic evaluation of the trapezius muscle could be used in the follow-up of kinesio taping therapy.
