Randomized Controlled TrialCytogenetic changes in oral mucosal cells of human immunodeficiency virus-infected children and adolescents undergoing antiretroviral treatment.
The objective of this study was to evaluate possible cytogenetic changes in children and adolescents with human immunodeficiency virus on antiretroviral therapy, through the micronucleus test in oral mucosa. ⋯ These results indicate that human immunodeficiency virus -infected individuals undergoing antiretroviral therapy have cytogenetic changes in oral mucosal cells.

Randomized Controlled TrialEffects of kinesiology taping on swallowing functions in newborns with swallowing difficulties: a randomized controlled pilot study.
This study investigated the efficacy of kinesiology taping application in premature infants with dysphagia. ⋯ The results of this study show that kinesiology taping can be applied as a safe and effective method to improve feeding functions in premature infants with sucking and swallowing difficulties.

Randomized Controlled TrialThe clinical value of lung ultrasound in premature infants with bronchopulmonary dysplasia.
This study aimed to explore the risk factors of bronchopulmonary dysplasia in premature infants and the clinical application value of lung ultrasound in the diagnosis of bronchopulmonary dysplasia. ⋯ The diagnostic efficiency of lung ultrasound for premature bronchopulmonary dysplasia is better than that of X-rays. The application of lung ultrasound can screen patients with bronchopulmonary dysplasia early for timely intervention.

Randomized Controlled TrialCytogenetic changes in oral mucosa cells from individuals submitted to oral human immunodeficiency virus pre-exposure prophylaxis use.
The objective of this study was to evaluate cytogenetic changes in individuals submitted to oral human immunodeficiency virus pre-exposure prophylaxis use through the micronucleus test in oral mucosa. ⋯ These results indicate that individuals undergoing pre-exposure prophylaxis use have geno- and cytotoxicity in oral mucosal cells.

Randomized Controlled TrialAnalgesic efficacy of Intraoperative lidocaine infusion in patients undergoing thyroidectomy.
A significant proportion of patients may experience moderate pain requiring treatment in the postoperative first 24 h following thyroidectomy. The aim of this study was to investigate the evaluation of postoperative patient-reported pain from intraoperative intravenous infusion of lidocaine in patients undergoing thyroidectomy surgery. ⋯ We recommended the use of intravenous lidocaine infusion intraoperatively in thyroidectomy surgery as it reduces pain scores.
