Predicting the outcome of death by CALL Score in COVID-19 patients.
The aim of this study was to assess the performance of the CALL Score tool in predicting the death outcome in COVID-19 patients. ⋯ The CALL Score showed promising discriminatory ability for death outcomes in COVID-19 patients. Age, DHL level, and lymphocyte count were identified as independent predictors. Further validation and external evaluation are necessary to establish the robustness and generalizability of the CALL Score in diverse clinical settings.

Obesity effects on sleep quality with anthropometric and metabolic changes.
Obesity is one of the etiological factors of sleep disorders (e.g., obstructive sleep apnea and restless leg syndrome). The aim of this study was to determine the effect of obesity on sleep quality by using the Pittsburgh Quality İndex and Berlin Question are and evaluate the association of sleep with anthropometric and metabolic parameters. ⋯ We observed a significant correlation between Pittsburgh sleep quality index and the anthropometric and metabolic parameters. Also, the frequency of obstructive sleep apnea and restless leg syndrome was 88% and 45%, respectively, in obese individuals.

Local imaging to interpret tumor size in F18 fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/CT in lung cancers.
This study aimed to determine the thoracic and extra-thoracic extension of the disease in patients diagnosed with lung cancer and who had whole-body F18-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/CT imaging and to investigate whether there is a relationship between tumor size and extrathoracic spread. ⋯ Positron emission tomography/CT may be more appropriate for cases with a nodule diameter of ≤20 mm. Performing local imaging in patients with a nodule diameter of ≤20 mm could reduce radiation exposure and save radiopharmaceuticals used in positron emission tomography/CT imaging.

Effect of Tirofiban on new cerebral microbleeds after mechanical thrombectomy in patients with acute ischemic stroke.
The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of tirofiban on new cerebral microhemorrhage after mechanical thrombectomy in patients with acute ischemic stroke. ⋯ The application of tirofiban in mechanical thrombectomy of patients with acute ischemic stroke has high safety, effectively reduces the occurrence of new cerebral microhemorrhage, and provides a guarantee for patient safety.

Evaluation of platelet indices and pro-inflammatory cytokines in type 2 diabetic patients with retinopathy.
The aim of this study was to investigate whether platelet parameters and pro-inflammatory cytokines associated with platelet activation could be surrogate markers of the diabetic retinopathy stages in type 2 diabetic patients. ⋯ In the studies evaluating the utility of platelet indices and the associated cytokines in diabetic retinopathy, there is a need for the standardization of the measurements. All medications that can affect platelet activation should be taken into consideration.
