Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, cath labs have had to modify their workflow for elective and urgent patients. ⋯ Our survey of an experienced team of clinicians yielded concise guidelines to direct the management of CAD and structural heart disease patients during the initial phases of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Multicenter Study Comparative Study Observational StudyComplete Versus Culprit only Revascularisation in Patients with Cardiogenic Shock Complicating Acute Myocardial Infarction: Incidence and Outcomes from the London Heart Attack Group.
Despite advances in technology, patients with Cardiogenic Shock (CS) presenting with ST-segment myocardial infarction (STEMI) still have a poor prognosis with high mortality rates. A large proportion of these patients have multi-vessel coronary artery disease, the treatment of which is still unclear. We aimed to assess the trends in management of CS patients with multi-vessel disease (MVD), particularly looking at the incidence and outcomes of complete revascularisation compared to culprit vessel only. ⋯ In a contemporary observational series of CS patients with MVD, complete revascularisation appears to be associated with better outcomes compared to culprit vessel only intervention. This supports on-going clinical trials in this area and provides further evidence of the association of complete revascularisation in STEMI with good outcomes.

Multicenter Study Comparative Study Observational StudyAssociation of radial versus femoral access with contrast-induced acute kidney injury in patients undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention for ST-elevation myocardial infarction.
Patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) are at an increased risk of developing contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI). Data on the association between transradial (TRA) vs. transfemoral (TFA) access and the risk of CI-AKI in this setting are limited. ⋯ In patients with STEMI undergoing primary PCI, the overall incidence of contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI) was low (6.7%). Transradial access was not associated with a lower risk of CI-AKI as compared with transfemoral access.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter StudyPost-procedural/pre-hemostasis intra-arterial nitroglycerin after transradial catheterization: A gender based analysis.
We analyzed the effect of nitroglycerin on radial artery occlusion (RAO) in women undergoing transradial catheterization. ⋯ The administration of nitroglycerin at the end of a transradial catheterization in women did not reduce the risk of RAO as determined by ultrasound one day after the radial procedure. Age <60years was associated with a higher risk of RAO compared with age ≥60years in women. Further strategies to reduce RAO in women are needed.

Multicenter Study Comparative Study Clinical TrialPaclitaxel-eluting balloon and everolimus-eluting stent for provisional stenting of coronary bifurcations: 12-month results of the multicenter BIOLUX-I study.
Several studies investigated the combination of bare metal stents in the main branch and drug-eluting balloons in the side branch in bifurcation lesions, but data on the combination of drug-eluting stents and drug-eluting balloons are scarce. We aim to assess the feasibility of provisional stenting with an everolimus-eluting stent in the main branch and a paclitaxel-eluting balloon in the side branch. ⋯ The combination of an everolimus-eluting stent in the main branch and a paclitaxel-eluting balloon in the side branch appears to be a safe, effective and novel treatment option for bifurcation lesions.
