Review Randomized Controlled TrialTopical herbal medicine for treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy: a systematic review of randomized controlled trials.
Topical Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) is generally used in China, separately or in combination with conventional medicine, to treat diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN). Clinical studies have shown beneficial effects of CHM compared with conventional medicine. ⋯ Due to weak evidence, the claimed benefits of topical CHM for DPN are inconclusive; more stringent studies are needed to support clinical practice.

Medicinal cupping therapy in 30 patients with fibromyalgia: a case series observation.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the therapeutic effect of traditional medicinal cupping for treatment of fibromyalgia. ⋯ Medicinal cupping therapy was associated with a reduction in fibromyalgia symptoms for both pain ratings and number of tender points. The findings from this case series should be tested in a controlled clinical trial.

Case ReportsCase series in patients with zoster-associated pain using Mangifera indica L. extract.
Neuroimmune activation has been proposed as a source of new targets for therapeutic intervention in neuropathic pain. Vimang® is an aqueous extract from Mangifera indica L. (common mango) that is traditionally used in Cuba for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and immunomodulatory properties. In the present case report, we determine its potential effects in patients with zoster-associated pain. ⋯ These results suggest that Vimang® could be beneficial in the treatment of neuropathic pain. However, a controlled clinical trial is necessary to confirm this hypothesis.
