Artificial ulcers after endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) are usually treated by proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) in clinical setting. Vonoprazan, a newly developed potassium-competitive acid blocker, has recently been used to treat post-ESD ulcers. We aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of vonoprazan on the healing of post-ESD artificial ulcers compared with those of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) using a meta-analysis. ⋯ Compared with PPIs, vonoprazan showed a better efficacy in ulcer shrinkage rate and achieved more complete healing in the treatment of post-ESD ulcers. Vonoprazan did not induce any incremental risk of post-ESD bleeding as well. It may be an appropriate choice in the management of artificial ulcers after ESD.

Ringer's lactate versus normal saline in acute pancreatitis: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Aggressive i.v. hydration with crystalloids is the first step in managing acute pancreatitis (AP) and is associated with improved survival. Guidelines about the choice of crystalloids to use are unclear. This systematic review and meta-analysis was aimed to discern whether the choice of fluids in managing pancreatitis was associated with patients' outcomes. ⋯ RL has anti-inflammatory effects and is associated with decreased odds of persistent SIRS at 24 h, which is a marker of severe disease in AP patients. Although mortality trended lower in the RL group this did not achieve statistical significance and hence larger randomized controlled trials are needed to evaluate this association.

Diagnostic performance of confocal laser endomicroscopy for atrophy and gastric intestinal metaplasia: A meta-analysis.
To systematically evaluate the diagnostic efficacy of confocal laser endomicroscopy (CLE) for gastric atrophy (GA) and gastric intestinal metaplasia (GIM). ⋯ CLE is of great value and may be considered an alternative modality for the early diagnosis of GA and GIM.

Meta Analysis
Meta-analysis of confocal laser endomicroscopy for the diagnosis of gastric neoplasia and adenocarcinoma.
Confocal laser endomicroscopy (CLE) is a recently developed technique used to diagnose gastrointestinal diseases. The current meta-analysis aimed to systematically assess the ability of CLE to diagnose neoplasia and gastric adenocarcinoma. ⋯ CLE has a high sensitivity and specificity for diagnosing gastric intraepithelial neoplasia and gastric adenocarcinoma; therefore, it could be considered an alternative to the endoscopic method used to diagnose gastric intraepithelial neoplasia and gastric adenocarcinoma.

High-resolution manometric subtypes as a predictive factor for the treatment of achalasia: A meta-analysis and systematic review.
To assess manometric subtypes as predictive factors for the treatment efficacies of pneumatic balloon dilatation (PBD) and laparoscopic Heller myotomy (LHM) in patients with achalasia. ⋯ Type II achalasia shows the best prognosis after PBD and LHM, while type III achalasia has the worst prognosis.
