[Sex differences in hospitalized patients for COVID-19. Argentine Registry of Cardiovascular Complications of COVID-19 (RACCOVID-19)].
SARS-CoV-2 can cause mild upper respiratory tract involvement to pulmonary disease of varying severity, as well as cardiovascular complications with increased mortality. The prevalence is similar in men and women, although there are sex differences in disease characteristics and outcome. In this study, we analyze the clinical characteristics, progression, and in-hospital outcome by sex of patients included in the RACCOVID-19 registry. ⋯ In the RACCOVID-19 registry, men had worse performance status and higher incidence of cardiovascular complications with higher in-hospital mortality. Male sex, hypertension, diabetes, and history of other diseases were independent predictors of in-hospital mortality.

Clinical and epidemiological characteristics of the 2022-2023 Mpox outbreak in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The 2022-2023 Mpox outbreak in Argentina presented unique challenges due to the lack of vaccination and antiviral therapy. This study analyzed the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of cases in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (MABA), examining temporal trends, HIV status, and concomitant sexually transmitted infections (STIs). ⋯ The outbreak in Argentina, mainly affecting men who have sex with men living with HIV, had low mortality. No significant differences were observed in complications and hospitalization between people with and without HIV.

[Perception and identification of barriers to the use of digital technologies in arterial hypertension].
Electronic devices and communication technologies are increasingly used to provide medical care to patients with high blood pressure. The main objective was to evaluate doctors' perception on the usefulness of digital technologies in hypertension. The secondary objectives were to evaluate the prevalence of use of digital technologies in the follow-up of patients with hypertension and to identify the barriers perceived by doctors for their implementation in the Argentine Republic. ⋯ The perception of professionals is favorable, as they considered these technologies useful to improve therapeutic adherence, which could have a facilitating effect on their implementation, although the perceived barriers are part of organizational issues to be resolved.

[Visual inspection with acetic acid and the control of cervical cancer in primary care].
Visual inspection with acetic acid (VIA) is a primary alternative to reduce cervical cancer (CaCu) incidence and mortality. The study aimed to determine the proportion of women aged 30-49 years who used VIA in the last two years and the factors associated with the use of the test in the primary care setting. ⋯ The VIA screening program for CaCu would not be achieving the desired impact. There is a need to strengthen strategies and interventions in primary care to improve screening behaviors and rates.

Vaccination impact: mortality and time shift to COVID-19 maximum severity in hospitalized patients. An Argentine multicenter registry.
The COVID-19 vaccine became an effective instrument to prevent severe SARS-CoV-2 infections. However, 5% of vaccinated patients will have moderate or severe disease. ⋯ The time elapsed between the onset of COVID-19 symptoms to the highest severity was similar in vaccinated and unvaccinated patients. However, hospitalized vaccinated patients had a lower risk of mortality than unvaccinated patients.
