Hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT) is an autosomal dominant vascular dysplasia that might affect 1/5000-10 000 individuals worldwide. It is a rare and underdiagnosed condition. Population-based epidemiological studies are crucial for comprehending and quantifying the impact of this disease. We aim to estimate the prevalence in a Prepaid Health Care System of Buenos Aires, Argentina. ⋯ The prevalence identified in our study is higher than the one documented in other studies.

Knee osteochondral lesions represent a frequent pathology within young active patients. One possible indication for severe lesions or in case of impossibility of harvesting an autograft is the use of fresh frozen allograft. The objective of this study was to retrospectively analyze functional results and failure rate after osteochondral transplants using fresh frozen allografts. ⋯ Our results after a mean seven-year follow-up evidenced an overall improvement in functional scores and a failure rate of 20%. Osteochondral transplant using fresh frozen allografts is a reliable and feasible treatment for patients with large osteochondral defects.

The Global Trigger Tool (GTT) is a tool that accurately identifies adverse events that represent a significant problem in hospitals. ⋯ The number of events per 100 admissions was higher than that reported in the literature, but there were no differences in events per 1000 patientdays. Fatal cases were caused by respiratory infectious diseases in patients with comorbidities, nasogastric tube needs and cognitive decline. The study highlights the scarce use of the tool in public hospitals and the implementation of trigger analysis with ROC curves. Knowing the frequency and the most frequent type of event will allow the implementation of measures that improve patient safety.

The objective of this study was to analyze the geographic variability and the relationship between social determinants of health and COVID-19 lethality in Bariloche. ⋯ The results showed health inequities and an association between social determinants and COVID-19 lethality in Bariloche. Individuals living in areas with higher socioeconomic vulnerability had a higher risk of mortality. These findings highlight the importance of addressing health inequities in a pandemic response.
