Multicenter StudyRelative Importance of Baseline and Longitudinal Evaluation in the Follow-Up of Vasodilator Therapy in Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the relative value of baseline and follow-up echocardiographic assessment of pulmonary artery systolic pressure (PASP) and right ventricular (RV) function in assessing response to vasodilator therapy in pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). ⋯ In PAH, baseline RV function (RVFWS) is a strong predictor of outcome, independent of PASP. Changes throughout therapy appear minimal, and only changes in RVFWS, inferior vena cava, size, and right atrial area were associated with outcome.

Multicenter Study Observational StudyChanges in Coronary Plaque Composition in Patients With Acute Myocardial Infarction Treated With High-Intensity Statin Therapy (IBIS-4): A Serial Optical Coherence Tomography Study.
This study assessed changes in optical coherence tomography (OCT)-defined plaque composition in patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) receiving high-intensity statin treatment. ⋯ In this observational study, we found significant increase in minimum FCT, reduction in macrophage accumulation, and frequent regression of TCFAs to other plaque phenotypes in nonculprit lesions of patients with STEMI treated with high-intensity statin therapy.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Comparative StudyA Comparison of the Updated Diamond-Forrester, CAD Consortium, and CONFIRM History-Based Risk Scores for Predicting Obstructive Coronary Artery Disease in Patients With Stable Chest Pain: The SCOT-HEART Coronary CTA Cohort.
This study sought to compare the performance of history-based risk scores in predicting obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD) among patients with stable chest pain from the SCOT-HEART study. ⋯ In this multicenter clinic-based cohort of patients with suspected CAD and uniform CAD evaluation by coronary CTA, CAD2 provided the best discrimination and classification, despite overestimation of obstructive CAD as evaluated by coronary CTA. CRS exhibited intermediate performance followed by UDF for discrimination and reclassification.

Multicenter Study Comparative StudyIdentification of High-Risk Plaques Destined to Cause Acute Coronary Syndrome Using Coronary Computed Tomographic Angiography and Computational Fluid Dynamics.
The authors investigated the utility of noninvasive hemodynamic assessment in the identification of high-risk plaques that caused subsequent acute coronary syndrome (ACS). ⋯ Noninvasive hemodynamic assessment enhanced the identification of high-risk plaques that subsequently caused ACS. The integration of noninvasive hemodynamic assessments may improve the identification of culprit lesions for future ACS.
