The development of Minimally invasive pancreaticoduodenectomy (MIPD) in Chinese mainland has been extremely quick. However, the safety and oncologic outcomes remain controversial. This review evaluates the current status of MIPD in Chinese mainland. ⋯ The mean number of harvested lymph nodes was 13.5, and the rate of positive margin was 5.3%. Based on Chinese national condition, the operative volume of MIPD in Chinese mainland is the leading position in the world, and compared with some large international meta-analysis, no inferior perioperative and short-term oncological outcomes were observed in MIPD of Chinese mainland. However, research on survival analysis and phased learning curve outcomes is needed urgently before the innovative techniques are widely accepted.

Significant advances in our understanding of neutrophil biology were made in the past several years. A newly discovered mechanism was discovered, the formation of neutrophils extracellular traps (NETs). The structure of NETs is composed of the DNA strand and neutrophil granule proteins. ⋯ The pro-tumor effect has a correlation with matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP-9), cathepsin G, and neutrophil elastase (NE). Moreover, the structure of the NETs makes it able to catch the circulating tumor cells, which could lead to metastasis. This review summarizes our knowledge about the proven roles of NETs in the progression of cancer with particular focus on the components of the NETs, and considers NETs as a potential target for cancer therapy.

The past decades have witnessed a rapid increase in the use of molecularly targeted therapies. One class of agents includes the epidermal growth factor receptor inhibitors (EGFRIs), which afford patients longer progression-free survival (PFS) times, especially among non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and metastatic colorectal carcinoma (mCRC). Certain adverse effects, particularly skin toxicity, are mainly manifested as rash, xerosis, pruritus, nails changes, hair changes and mucositis. ⋯ For these reasons, more and more oncologists and dermatologists recognize the importance of recognition and management of skin toxicities with the expansion in availability of EGFRIs. In this review, we conducted a systematic review of recent data to examine the types and frequencies of dermatologic toxicities associated with anti-epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) therapies in NSCLC and mCRC. In addition, we would like to explore the management and treatment options currently used by clinicians based on the possible mechanism.

Review Meta Analysis Comparative Study
A systematic review and meta-analysis of feasibility, safety and efficacy of associating liver partition and portal vein ligation for staged hepatectomy (ALPPS) versus two-stage hepatectomy (TSH).
This meta-analysis aimed to review the regeneration rate of future liver remnant (FLR) and perioperative outcomes after associating liver partition and portal vein ligation for staged hepatectomy (ALPPS) and two-stage hepatectomy (TSH). A web search was performed in "MEDLINE", "EMBASE", and "SCIENCE DIRECT" databases using both subject headings (MeSH) and truncated word to identify all the articles published that related to this topic. Pooled risk ratios were calculated for categorical variables and mean differences for continuous variables using the fixed-effects and random-effects models for meta-analysis. ⋯ There was no statistical difference (95% CI, p = 0.34). So from the outcome of this meta-analysis, TSH had a similar remnant liver regeneration ability compared to ALPPS while the morbidity and mortality rates were relatively low. Cancer progression while waiting for the staged liver resection after portal vein embolization was a drawback for TSH.

Preterm premature rupture of the membranes (PPROM) remains the leading cause of preterm deliveries and neonatal mortality and morbidity. The current cohort study sought to retrospectively examine perinatal outcomes in cases of PPROM < 34 weeks' gestation that were managed conservatively from 2010 to 2012 and to identify risk factors for short-term neonatal outcomes. Subjects were 510 pregnancies consisting of 114 twin and 396 singleton pregnancies. ⋯ Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that weeks of gestation at PPROM (OR: 0.953, 95% CI: 0.939-0.966, p < 0.001) and a latency period (OR: 0.948, 95%CI: 0.926-0.970, p < 0.001) were associated with neonatal mortality or morbidity. A twin pregnancy (OR: 0.319, 95% CI: 0.17-0.6, p < 0.001) and weeks of gestation at PPROM (OR: 0.737, 95% CI: 0.66-0.822, p < 0.001) were associated with the latency period. Gestational age at PPROM, a twin pregnancy, and the latency period are associated with neonatal mortality and morbidity.
