The effect of preinjury anticoagulation on mortality in trauma patients: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
To assess the effect of preinjury anticoagulation on mortality in trauma patients. ⋯ Preinjury anticoagulation is a significant predictor of mortality in trauma patients. Future studies should focus on strategies required to reduce such a significant risk of mortality in these high-risk patients. This may include adaptation of primary, secondary and tertiary trauma surveys for patients on preinjury anticoagulation.

The most frequently used auto-grafts for ACL reconstruction (ACLR) are bone-patellar tendon-bone (BPTB) and four-strand hamstring tendon (4S-HT), but significant controversy exists about which graft is better. This study aimed to compare the knee outcomes following ACLR with BPTB and 4S-HT autografts. ⋯ BPTB was associated with inferior mid- to long-term (>5 years) knee functional outcomes, and increased frequency of donor-site complications. In contrast, only short-term knee laxity was increased for 4S-HT autograft, which is expected to be improved by providing more conservative rehabilitation protocol and aperture fixation methods.

Chronic ankle instability predominantly occurs due to multiple exercise-related diseases. Conservative treatment methods regarding this condition have not effectively improved in recent years, which is why more focus has been put on exploring different novel reconstruction procedures of the lateral ankle ligament for the treatment of chronic ankle instability.
