Impact of SARS-CoV-2 vaccine rollout on Hispanic and non-Hispanic admission and mortality trends: an interrupted time series analysis.
Challenges with SARS-CoV-2 vaccine prioritization, access, and hesitancy have influenced vaccination uptake. ⋯ SARS-CoV-2 vaccine rollout was associated with improved COVID-19 admission trends among non-Hispanic vs Hispanic patients. Vaccine rollout was not shown to influence mortality trends in either group, which were four times higher among Hispanic patients. Improved vaccine rollout may have reduced disparities in admission trends for Hispanic patients, but other factors influenced their mortality trends.

Impact of antigen exposure on outcomes and treatment response in fibrotic hypersensitivity pneumonitis.
Patients with fibrotic hypersensitivity pneumonitis (fHP) are frequently treated with immunosuppression to slow lung function decline; however, the impact of this treatment has not been studied across different types of antigen exposure. ⋯ Response to immunosuppression varies by antigen type in patients with fHP. Additional studies are needed to test the role of immunosuppression in fHP, and particularly in those with an unknown antigen.

The Association between Malnutrition and High Protein Treatment on Outcomes in Critically Ill Patients: A Post Hoc Analysis of the EFFORT Protein Randomized Trial.
Preexisting malnutrition in critically ill patients is associated with adverse clinical outcomes. Malnutrition can be diagnosed with the Global Leadership Initiative on Malnutrition using parameters such as weight loss, muscle wasting, and BMI. International critical care nutrition guidelines recommend high protein treatment to improve clinical outcomes in critically ill patients diagnosed with preexisting malnutrition. However, this recommendation is based on expert opinion. ⋯ gov.

Risk-adapted starting age of personalized lung cancer screening: a population-based, prospective cohort study in China.
The current one-size-fits-all screening strategy for lung cancer is not suitable for personalized screening. ⋯ The personalized risk-adapted starting ages for lung cancer screening, based on the principle of equal management of equal risk, can served as an optimized screening strategy to identify high-risk individuals.

Characteristics and prognosis factors of Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia according to underlying disease: a retrospective multicentre study.
Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia (PcP) remains associated with high rates of mortality, and the impact of immunocompromising underlying disease on the clinical presentation, severity, and mortality of PcP has not been adequately evaluated. ⋯ Among patients who were HIV-negative, long-term corticosteroid prior to PcP diagnosis was independently associated with increased 90-day mortality, specifically in patients with IMIDs. These results highlight both the needs for PcP prophylaxis in patients with IMIDs and to early consider PcP curative treatment in severe pneumonia among patients with IMIDs.
