Asthma PostersSESSION TYPE: Poster PresentationsPRESENTED ON: Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 01:15 PM - 02:15 PMPURPOSE: The cost of inhalers for asthma in the United States is about $15 billion annually. Obese patients with asthma use more inhalers compared to their nonobese counterparts. Asthma seen in obese patients differs from classical atopic asthma, and symptoms have been shown to improve with weight loss. We sought to examine the change in inhaler use among morbidly obese patients with asthma following bariatric surgery. ⋯ The following authors have nothing to disclose: Randall Schwartz, Marlow Hernandez, Franck Rahaghi, Jose Ramirez, Raul Rosenthal, Gustavo FerrerNo Product/Research Disclosure Information.

Infectious Diseases CasesSESSION TYPE: Case ReportsPRESENTED ON: Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 04:15 PM - 05:15 PMINTRODUCTION: Fournier's Gangrene is a life-threatening necrotizing infection of the perineum which affects immunocompromised patients, including those with diabetes and alcoholism. It is usually polymicrobial in nature, but occasionally results from atypical organisms. We report a rare case of tuberculous Fournier's Gangrene from a presumed prostatic source. ⋯ In our patient, the tuberculous abscesses were presumed to be local prostatic seeding given the occult nature of this disease and lack of active pulmonary tuberculosis or evidence of wide-spread dissemination.Reference #1: Clin Infect Dis(2009) 49: 1350-7Reference #2: World J Urol(2012) 30:15-21Reference #3: Int J Urol(2008) 15: 827-832DISCLOSURE: The following authors have nothing to disclose: Jason Schnack, Aarti Mittal, Ching-Fei ChangNo Product/Research Disclosure Information.

ILD Case Report Posters ISESSION TYPE: Case Report PosterPRESENTED ON: Sunday, March 23, 2014 at 01:15 PM - 02:15 PMINTRODUCTION: Sarcoidosis, a multisystem granulomatous disorder, has variable clinical presentations. Though most of the diagnosed cases are asymptomatic or present with pulmonary, ocular, cardiac or neurologic manifestations, there have been fewer than dozen cases reported, initially presenting with lower leg edema. We report the case of a patient presenting with bilateral leg edema and generalized lymphadenopathy without any pulmonary symptoms. Lymph node biopsy revealed non-caseating granulomas consistent with sarcoidosis. ⋯ The following authors have nothing to disclose: Viral Patel, Abhay Vakil, Punit Jariwala, Kelly Cervellione, Artur ShalonovNo Product/Research Disclosure Information.

ILD PostersSESSION TYPE: Poster PresentationsPRESENTED ON: Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 01:15 PM - 02:15 PMPURPOSE: Thin-section computed tomography (CT) is better than normal chest radiograph in the detection of pulmonary lesion including smoke inhalation injury which is often non-specific on chest X-ray. Unfortunately, specific changes and findings in CT have not yet been described. The aim of this study is to identify and describe the most useful CT features in inhalation injury. ⋯ The following authors have nothing to disclose: In-Gyu Hyun, Cheol-Hong KimNo Product/Research Disclosure Information.
