Valdecoxib for treatment of a single, acute, moderate to severe migraine headache.
To evaluate the analgesic efficacy and safety of a single 20- or 40-mg dose of valdecoxib compared with placebo in treatment of a single, acute, moderate or severe migraine headache, with or without aura. ⋯ A single 40-mg dose of valdecoxib is effective and well tolerated in treatment of migraine headache pain and associated symptoms.

Lumiracoxib is effective in the treatment of episodic tension-type headache.
To evaluate the efficacy of single doses of lumiracoxib, the most selective cyclo-oxygenase (COX)-2 inhibitor, in the treatment of episodic tension-type headache (ETTH), with particular emphasis on time to onset of analgesia. ⋯ Single 200 or 400 mg doses of lumiracoxib provided rapid and effective relief from the acute pain associated with ETTH.
