Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
Algorithm-based management of patients with gastrointestinal symptoms in patients after pelvic radiation treatment (ORBIT): a randomised controlled trial.
Chronic gastrointestinal symptoms after pelvic radiotherapy are common, multifactorial in cause, and affect patients' quality of life. We assessed whether such patients could be helped if a practitioner followed an investigative and management algorithm, and whether outcomes differed by whether a nurse or a gastroenterologist led this algorithm-based care. ⋯ The National Institute for Health Research.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Dextrose gel for neonatal hypoglycaemia (the Sugar Babies Study): a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial.
Neonatal hypoglycaemia is common, and a preventable cause of brain damage. Dextrose gel is used to reverse hypoglycaemia in individuals with diabetes; however, little evidence exists for its use in babies. We aimed to assess whether treatment with dextrose gel was more effective than feeding alone for reversal of neonatal hypoglycaemia in at-risk babies. ⋯ Waikato Medical Research Foundation, the Auckland Medical Research Foundation, the Maurice and Phyllis Paykel Trust, the Health Research Council of New Zealand, and the Rebecca Roberts Scholarship.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Pragmatic Clinical Trial
A structured training programme for caregivers of inpatients after stroke (TRACS): a cluster randomised controlled trial and cost-effectiveness analysis.
Most patients who have had a stroke are dependent on informal caregivers for activities of daily living. The TRACS trial investigated a training programme for caregivers (the London Stroke Carers Training Course, LSCTC) on physical and psychological outcomes, including cost-effectiveness, for patients and caregivers after a disabling stroke. ⋯ Medical Research Council.
