The optimal Chinese herbal injections (CHIs) combined with XELOX regimen for patients with gastric cancer remains elusive. The aim of our network meta-analysis (NMA) is to explore the best options among different CHIs for gastric cancer. ⋯ As the available evidence suggested that CHIs combined with XELOX regimen could provide treatment benefits for patients with gastric cancer. Among 13 types of CHIs, Javanica oil emulsion and Compound Kushen injection is the optimal treatment in improving the clinical effectiveness rate and performance status, and Lentinan injection was superior in relieving ADRs.

The common cold (CC) is the most common syndromes of infection in human beings, but there is currently no special treatment. For this reason, acupuncture is used to relieve the symptoms of the CC. Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) therapy that has been used for over 2000 years to treat various diseases. However, few studies have provided evidence for the efficacy and safety of acupuncture for the CC. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of acupuncture on CC periods and its symptoms. ⋯ This protocol will present the evidence of whether acupuncture therapy is an effective intervention for CC.

Effect of intravenous lidocaine infusion on long-term postoperative pain after spinal fusion surgery.
Intravenous lidocaine infusion is known to reduce postoperative pain for days or weeks beyond the infusion time, and plasma half-life in several types of surgical procedures. ⋯ Intra-operative lidocaine, when given intravenously as a bolus followed by an infusion, significantly decreased long term postoperative back pain intensity in patients undergoing spinal fusion surgery.

Chinese herbal injections for unstable angina pectoris: A protocol for systematic review and network meta-analyses.
Chinese herbal injections (CHIs) have been commonly used in the treatment of unstable angina pectoris (UAP) in China. However, there is no consensus or evidence on how to select CHIs for patients with UAP. The choice often depends on the personal experience or preference of clinician. This study aims to compare the effect of different CHIs for UAP using Bayesian network meta-analysis (NMA). ⋯ Our study will generate evidence for CHIs in the treatment of UAP and help clinicians make more accurate therapeutic schedule. In addition, it might provide suggestions for Chinese medicine clinical practice or guideline.

Pancreatic cancer (PC) is a devastating malignant tumor. Although surgical resection may offer a good prognosis and prolong survival, approximately 80% patients with PC are always diagnosed as unresectable tumor. National Comprehensive Cancer Network's (NCCN) recommended gemcitabine-based chemotherapy as efficient treatment. While, according to recent studies, targeted agents might be a better available option for advanced or metastatic pancreatic cancer patients. The aim of this systematic review and network meta-analysis will be to examine the differences of different targeted interventions for advanced/metastatic PC patients. ⋯ To the best of our knowledge, this systematic review and network meta-analysis will firstly use both direct and indirect evidence to compare the differences of different targeted agents and targeted agents plus chemotherapy for advanced/metastatic pancreatic cancer patients. This is a protocol of systematic review and meta-analysis, so the ethical approval and patient consent are not required. We will disseminate the results of this review by submitting to a peer-reviewed journal.
