HPV have been identified as high-risk and low-risk, depending on their association with the development of cancer. HPV infections can be facilitated by co-infection with HIV. Here, we investigated HPV prevalence and genotypes and the risk factors affecting HPV/HIV co-infection. ⋯ HIV-infected patients presented a high prevalence of HPV co-infection, and HPV16 and HPV56 were the most prevalent genotypes. Considering this, it is possible that immunodeficiency can contribute to increased susceptibility to HPV56 infection in HIV-infected patients. The association between HIV viral load and the lesions also confirmed the importance of monitoring HIV/HPV co-infected patients with high HIV viral loads.

Italy, along with Poland and Hungary, has the highest cesarean section rate (35.7%) in Europe. Among Italian regions, Campania has the highest rate of cesarean section (58.4%). We developed a standardized antenatal class to evaluate whether women who attend this class during pregnancy have a lower cesarean section rate. ⋯ Non-participants of antenatal class showed a higher rate of cesarean section than those who participated (56.2% vs 23.1%; relative risk [RR] = 2.43; 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.95-3.03; P < .0001), as well as after adjustment for other variables. This difference was stronger in 1 hospital (RR = 2.88; 95% CI 2.13-3.89; P < .0001) than in the other hospital (RR = 1.86; 95% CI 1.36-2.55; P < .0001). Our standardized antenatal class, which was performed in an area with a high rate of cesarean section, significantly reduced this rate, and this was still significant after adjustment for potential confounders.

The use of glue to fix mesh instead of sutures in Lichtenstein inguinal hernia repair has been accepted worldwide, with the increasing worries about postoperative chronic groin pain and recurrence. The aim of this meta-analysis was to clarify which mesh fixation method was more suitable in Lichtenstein inguinal hernia repair. ⋯ Mesh fixation with glue compared with sutures in Lichtenstein repair inguinal hernia is faster and less painful, without an increasing in terms of recurrence rates in the long term.

Review Case Reports
Dedifferentiated endometrioid adenocarcinoma with trophoblastic components and elevated serum alfa-fetoprotein: A case report and literature review.
Dedifferentiated endometrioid adenocarcinoma (DEAC) consisted of a combination of undifferentiated and differentiated carcinoma is more aggressive than other conventional endometrioid adenocarcinomas. ⋯ DEAC with trophoblastic differentiation seems to follow an aggressive course with early metastasis and poor clinical prognosis. However, due to small number of cases, further studies are necessary.

Randomized Controlled Trial
The effect and biomechanical mechanisms of intradermal needle for post-stroke hemiplegia recovery: Study protocol for a randomized controlled pilot trial.
The incidence of stroke has increased significantly in recent years. Post-stroke hemiplegia is a common stroke complication with long-term negative consequences. Several studies have suggested that acupuncture could be an effective intervention for the rehabilitation of post-stroke hemiplegia. ⋯ The scores of clinical scales such as National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale, Fugl-Meyer Assessment, Berg Balance Scale, Barthel Index, and Stroke-specific Quality of Life Scale will be assessed as secondary outcome measures. All assessments will be conducted at baseline, 4 weeks after intervention and at the end of 3 months' follow-up. The purpose of this study is to explore the potential effect and biomechanical mechanisms of intradermal needle for post-stroke hemiplegia recovery, as well as to provide a basis for future larger clinical studies.
