Effectiveness and safety of fire needle on periarthritis of shoulder: Protocol for a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Fire needle which is an integral part of the acupuncture therapy. Periarthritis of shoulder (PAS) is a common disease, which brings lots of pain for patients. The clinical practice indicates that fire needle has a therapeutic effect on the PAS. Here, we will provide a protocol to explore the effectiveness and safety of fire needle for the PAS. ⋯ PROS-PERO CRD42019119686.

Comparative cardiovascular safety of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) among Chinese senile depression patients: A network meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
Senile depression patients in China usually present with a higher risk of coronary heart disease that may trigger cardiac death. Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) were the most prescribed antidepressants in China; the cardiovascular safety of SSRIs when used in Chinese senile depression patients has not been evaluated. ⋯ Escitalopram exhibited distinct advantages compared with other SSRIs, while Fluoxetine had the biggest cardiovascular reaction probability.

Comparison of dexamethasone intravitreal implant with intravitreal anti-VEGF injections for the treatment of macular edema secondary to branch retinal vein occlusion: A meta-analysis.
This meta-analysis compared the efficacy and safety of dexamethasone intravitreal implant (DEX) and anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) in the treatment of macular edema (ME) secondary to branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO). ⋯ Our results show that visual acuity recovery and CMT were better in the DEX group than in the anti-VEGF group after 1 and 3 months, although the difference in CMT at 3 months was not significant. However, there were no significant differences in terms of visual acuity and CMT between the two groups after 6 months of follow-up. Therefore, DEX may be recommended as the first treatment option in ME associated with BRVO.

Interpregnancy weight change and perinatal outcomes: A protocol for a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Growing evidence suggests that interpregnancy weight change (IPWC) is a risk factor for perinatal outcomes, since it may increase the probability of gestational complications including gestational diabetes or cesarean delivery. Additionally, IPWC may affect neonatal outcomes increasing the prevalence of newborns small for gestational age or preterm birth. However, the association between IPWC and perinatal outcomes has not systematically synthesized thus far. This study protocol aims to provide a clear, transparent and standardized procedure for systematically reviewing the association between IPWC and perinatal outcomes. ⋯ PROSPERO CRD42018100449.

Changes of intraocular pressure and ocular perfusion pressure during controlled hypotension in patients undergoing arthroscopic shoulder surgery: A prospective, randomized, controlled study comparing propofol, and desflurane anesthesia.
The aim of the present study is to evaluate the effects of deliberate hypotensive anesthesia on intraocular pressure (IOP) and ocular perfusion pressure (OPP) and compare the effects of propofol total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA) and desflurane anesthesia on IOP and OPP. ⋯ Hypotensive anesthesia reduced IOP and OPP, but propofol TIVA maintained higher OPP than desflurane anesthesia. These findings suggest that propofol TIVA can help mitigate the decrease of OPP during hypotensive anesthesia.
