Celecoxib vs diclofenac sodium in patients with knee osteoarthritis: A protocol for systematic review and meta analysis.
Knee osteoarthritis (KOA) is one of the most common chronic muscular diseases in old people. The purpose of this meta-analysis was to compare celecoxib and diclofenac sodium in patients with knee osteoarthritis (KOA). ⋯ This proposed systematic review will provide up-to-date evidence to assess the effect of celecoxib in the treatment for patients with KOA. RESEARCH REGISTRY REGISTRATION NUMBER:: reviewregistry827.

Antenatal administration of hepatitis B immunoglobulin and hepatitis B vaccine to prevent mother to child transmission in hepatitis B virus surface antigen positive pregnant women: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
This study aims at evaluating the benefits and harms of hepatitis B immune globulin (HBIG) and hepatitis B vaccine (HBVac) in preventing mother to child transmission in HBV surface antigen (HBsAg) positive pregnant women during antenatal period. ⋯ HBIG and HBVac could be an effective alternative for HBsAg positive pregnant women to prevent mother to child transmission. However, due to the limitations of the study, the long-term efficacy and safety of HBIG and HBVac still need long-term and high-quality research to confirm.

Association of finasteride with prostate cancer: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
The Prostate Cancer Prevention Trial has shown a protective effect of finasteride on prostate cancer, but it also showed that finasteride can increase the risk of high-grade prostate cancer. Several studies have investigated the relationship between finasteride and prostate cancer, but these studies have shown inconsistent results. ⋯ This study confirms that finasteride significantly reduced the risk of prostate cancer; however, the malignant degree of prostate cancer was increased. Studies with larger sample sizes are needed to better clarify the correlation between finasteride use and prostate cancer.

Essential hypertension is a multifactorial disease, which is affected by genetic and environmental factors, and can cause diseases such as cerebrovascular disease, heart failure, coronary heart disease, and chronic renal failure. High salt intake is a risk factor for hypertension, stroke, and cardiovascular disease. Blood pressure variability (BPV) is a reliable independent predictor of cardiovascular events and death. At present, there are few studies about the correlation among high salt intake, BPV, and target organ damage (TOD) in patients with hypertension. ⋯ The purpose of this study is to compare 24-hour urine sodium excretion, BPV, carotid intima-media thickness, left ventricular mass index, and serum creatinine or endogenous creatinine clearance rate. To clarify the relationship between high salt load and BPV and TOD in patients with hypertension. This study is a cross-sectional study. It will recruit 600 patients with essential hypertension in the outpatient and inpatient department of cardiovascular medicine of Chengdu Fifth People's Hospital. Researchers will obtain blood and urine samples with the patient's informed consent. In addition, we will measure patient's blood pressure and target organ-related information.

Effect of acupuncture on hormone level in patients with gastrointestinal dysfunction after general anesthesia: A study protocol for a randomized controlled trial.
Postoperative gastrointestinal dysfunction (PGD) refers to one of the common postoperative complications. Acupuncture can facilitate the recovery of PGD, whereas no therapeutic schedule of acupuncture has been internationally recognized for treating PGD. In the present study, a scientific trial protocol has been proposed to verify the feasibility of acupuncture in treating gastrointestinal dysfunction after laparoscopic cholecystectomy under general anesthesia. We conduct this protocol to investigate whether acupuncture recovery gastrointestinal dysfunction by influencing the expression of gastrointestinal hormone. ⋯ A standardized and scientific clinical trial is conducted to assess the efficacy and safety of acupuncture for gastrointestinal dysfunction after laparoscopic cholecystectomy under general anesthesia. The aim is to objectively evidence and improves the clinical practice of acupoint prescription, as an attempt to promote the clinical application of this technology.
